Today's events kicked off with our annual staff Soccer AM Challenge!

Students could vote via Team in the virtual event to guess which of the staff members would be the overall winner of the Crossbar and Top Bins challenges.

Contestants Mr Conor (PE), Mr Palmer (PE), Mr Sydes (Business), Mr McGee (Head of MFL), Mrs Nicholson (Head of Maths), Mr Dann (Head of PE), Mr Lawrence (PE), Mr Hall (IT Support), Mr Edwards (SCITT Trainee) and Mr Daws (Head of Social Sciences) all put their footie skills to the test.  Inevitably, there were more misses that hits, however surprise guest star, Mr White, dressed in his suit and tie, took the limelight by hitting the crossbar on his one and only attempt!

In the end, it Mr Daws who emerged victorious and for the first time in his Leventhorpe career!

Lunchtime's big event was the Staff Talent Show which saw 5 teachers strutt their stuff in front of a live audience.  First up was Mrs Thomas (Science) and her amazing voice with Whitney Houston's 'I Wanna Dance with Somebody', followed by Mr Beardsworth whose trumpet rendition of the Indiana Jones theme tune went down a storm!  Miss Miller nearly brought the house down with Queen's 'Somebody to Love' and who knew that Mrs Ortega and Mr Ortega could cut such amazing moves on the latino dancefloor?  Mr Robertson (Head of English) had to forego his acustic guitar performance due to technical issues but instead gave a powerful performance of memorised verse which was delivered with timing, energy and passion.  And the staff talent show wouldn't be the same without Mr Kitson's 'Sweet Caroline' (so good, so good) which drew the 2022 talent show to an end.

And so tomorrow is the big one - the STUDENT talent show!

But in the meantime, the sixth formers will be staying overnight in the Leventhorpe gym and climbing the 29,032ft of mount Everest on the Stairmaster - if you are able to help them to raise money and give them the boost they need, please visit their JustGiving fundraising page:
