Ever wondered what gives a firework it's colour?

Our Science Club members in Years 7 and 8 have been getting the the mood for Bonfire Night this Friday by carrying out flame tests on different chemicals to make their own sparklers!

They learnt that iron filings give the sparks and that different each chemical gave a different coloured flame.
