Wind Turbines

Unfortunately our two wind turbines have come to the end of their economic life.   After 16 years, it was with regret that they were decommissioned in October 2022 due to their age and performance.   An end of an era but hopefully in the future further renewable technologies may be possible on the school site. 

Solar Thermal Panels

We do have solar thermal panels on the Leisure Centre roof.   These panels heat the water which is used for showering and washing in the sports facility.   This project has been part-funded by BRE (Building Research Establishment) Community Sustainable Energy Programme - an award partner of the BIG Lottery Fund.

Recycling

We also recycle the following:

• plastic
• cardboard
• steel
• light tubes
• batteries 
• second hand clothing shop
• Electrical/IT equipment 
• Used stamps
